About This Event
This is the story of a child enamoured by the stars. As a young child, Margaret Bending visited the Russian Exhibition in Earl’s Court, stunned to see the smile and waves of Yuri Gagarin walking towards her, just three months after he had become the first man in space. Twenty years later, standing in the desert in New Mexico, the experiment she had spent the last four years developing and testing is now sitting on top of an Astrobee rocket at White Sands Missile Range, ready to be launched into space. Like many of us, Margaret was a child who dreamt of space. This is the journey she took to make that dream come true and become one of the first women in rocket science.
The cafe will be serving refreshments during this event.
