About This Event
In 2001, a couple from Bradford travelled to The Gambia and came across a school with 2,600 pupils and no books. They were looking to go on a holiday that was “hot and cheap”, to “chill out”. Twenty-five years later, they’ve funded and built countless nurseries, libraries and wells, sponsored teachers to train through college, and provided books to over one-hundred schools. This is the inspirational story of how a group from Yorkshire are educating The Gambia.
The cafe will be serving refreshments during this event.
This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
