Time Travel through Place Names: A Sideways Look at the History of Leeds, with Professor Joyce Hill (1)

What lies behind the names we are so familiar with – the name of Leeds itself, our river, the major streets of the city centre, and some of the surrounding areas, once separate from Leeds, but now very much part of the city? It’s a detective story that, as we unravel it, tells us a lot about our city’s deep history.
